The Move Media Project (MMP) is a platform of activists and academics to support the masses with the different media tools and method to uphold their voice for achieving social justice and rights. MMP was formed in 2005 by media professionals, journalists, activists and academics but officially came into picture in June 2008, to organize the Move Media Rights Festival 2008. The festival was originally planned to be held from 11th to 19th December 2008. However due to the political developments and airport closures in Thailand during November and December 2008,the festival was postponed to 29th April to 7 May, 2009.

Its South East Asia regional project starts with organizing a human rights film and art  festival on celebrating the moment of 60th anniversary of Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), titled ‘Move Media Rights Festival’ (MMRF) focusing on South East Asia, but covering the wider Asian region. The festival will be held for the first time in Mae Sot, Chiang Mai and Bangkok of Thailand from  29 April to 7 May 2009 .
